To ensure the learner has the skills and knowledge to: Understand the safe loading of vehicles and the legal responsibilities of transport operators

Course Objectives

• 1Develop a good understanding of the safe loading of vehicles
• 2Understand the safe loading Risk Assessment requirement and process
• 3Know the safe way to restrain and secure a wide range of loads
• 4Understand the prosecution process for failure to secure loads and the consequences
• 5Understand the forces acting on a vehicle and how they impact the safe loading process
• 6Develop an understanding of manual handling techniques
• 7Understand tail lift operation
• 8Be aware of the dangers of overloading a vehicle and the consequences
• 9Be aware of the carriage of dangerous goods by road
• 10Know the documentation required for transport operations including Operators Licence requirements
• 11Understand maintenance responsibilities and the consequences when they go wrong

Driver CPC Periodic Training Certificate — 7 Hours
