Your Details

Course Aim

To ensure the learner has the skills and knowledge to: Understand how to respond to emergency situations and safely evacuate a passenger carrying vehicle

Course Objectives

  • 1Understand PSV driver health requirements including eyesight standards and medical conditions
  • 2Understand the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving and licence entitlement
  • 3Know your legal responsibilities under the Road Traffic Act, Construction and Use Regulations
  • 4Understand roadside checks and PG9 stop notices
  • 5Know what to do in the event of a collision including information exchange and company policy
  • 6Understand the main causes of collisions on urban and rural roads
  • 7Identify what constitutes an emergency and understand the Fatal Four
  • 8Know how to respond to passenger illness on board
  • 9Carry out a safe vehicle evacuation including priorities and hazard awareness
  • 10Know how to contact emergency services and communicate your location
  • 11Understand vehicle fire procedures and the triangle of fire
  • 12Participate in practical evacuation exercises on single and double decked PSVs

Qualification

Driver CPC Periodic Training Certificate( 7 Hours)
